From invitation link to the first move

The host creates a private room and sends its link directly to a friend. The invited player signs in with a free account and requests to join. After the room creator approves that request, both players can prepare their camera or microphone and agree on the next game. This approval step helps keep an accidentally forwarded link from opening the room to an unexpected visitor.

Before each game, the players can choose a time control and colors. Once the offer is accepted, the board and clocks become the focus. Premove support helps in fast positions, the most recent move is highlighted, and move and capture sounds give useful feedback. If a pawn reaches the final rank, the player chooses the promotion piece rather than receiving an automatic queen.

Media controls stay outside the board, so you can mute, disable video, or end the call without covering a position or blocking a move.

A private room that remembers the match

ChessTV rooms are intended for two accepted players. Completed games stay in room history with their moves and results, while live video is not presented as a saved recording. The room statistics summarize games, draws, and each player’s wins. If a guest steps away and later returns, the room can still show the player details associated with the shared match history.

That continuity matters for friends who play regularly. Instead of creating a disposable call and then searching for game records elsewhere, both people can return to the same room, review an earlier position with navigation controls, hear the corresponding move or capture sound, download a PGN, and begin another game.
