Play face to face

Keep compact live video beside the game so reactions return without taking attention away from the board.

Invite one friend

Every room has a private link and creator approval. There is no random matchmaking or unexpected visitor.

Play a proper game

Use real clocks, premoves, draw offers, promotion choices, move sounds, and familiar board controls.

Return to your history

Reopen the room for rematches and revisit completed games, results, statistics, and available PGN files.

One room, one shared game

Everything stays close to the board

ChessTV keeps the position at the center while player video, voice, clocks, and game controls remain easy to reach. You can focus on the move without losing the person playing across from you.

Common questions

Do both players need a paid plan?

No. A ChessTV Pro member creates the private room, while the invited friend can join with a free account.

Must I keep my camera on?

No. Camera is optional. You can use voice, mute the microphone, turn video on or off, or play with the board and chat.

Is video recorded?

No. ChessTV uses live WebRTC media for the room experience and does not store the call as a video recording.

Can we play more than one game?

Yes. Players can offer rematches with new colors or time controls, and completed games remain available in room history.
