The Grenke Chess Festival will feature the highly anticipated Grenke Freestyle Chess Open, a classical tournament played in the Chess960 format, also known as Freestyle Chess. These, along with other top-ranked players, will compete not only for a piece of the €225,000 prize fund but also for Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour points, which could secure their spot at the prestigious New York event later in the year.
